SUDSOL Blog Tour

Welcome to The Magenta Tiger.  I am really excited to be participating in the SUDSOL Blog Tour. I’ve created four projects using new products from the New Annual Stampin’ Up!® Catalogue, with the ‘In This World’ as my main stamp set (page 145).

SUDSOL = SIMPLY UNIQUE DEMONSTRATORS SHARING ONLINE

When I became a member of SUDSOL about 5 months ago, I didn’t realize how valuable this online community of Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators would be for me.

SUDSOL has it all: extensive library samples, contests, great ideas, class projects, patterns, templates, technique tutorials, workshop planners (current) and so much more. Members have access to both Creative Ideas and Business Ideas in one place.

My craft room is organised by Color. Each Classic Stampin’ Pad lives with the matching accessories I have: Enamel Shapes, 1/8” Stitched Ribbon, Sequin Trim, Thick Baker’s Twine.  One of the most useful tools I’ve come across on the SUDSOL website is the Accessories Chart by Color‘. This tool helps me keep track of my accessories by color. This file contains a chart of the all current Stampin’ Up!® colors and shows the accessories that come in each color. It included ribbons, threads, trims, twines, glitters, embossing powders, buttons and sequins. It makes co-ordinating my projects easier and helps me figure out what current accessories I’m missing from my stash!

If you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and not already of member of SUDSOL, click here to take advantage of the FREE two-week trial. (Make sure you have plenty of time when you take the FREE two-week trial because there is so much to check out!)

WATERCOLOR BUTTERFLY

image

HOW DID I MAKE THIS CARD?

  • My Whisper White card base is A6 size (105mm x 297mm – folded in half).
  • My layering panel (95mm x 140mm) is 2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Stack (Sweet Sugarplum).
  • I’ve inked up the butterfly stamp from the ‘In This World’ stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped it on a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock.
  • I’ve punched out the Scalloped Square (2.5 inch) using the Big Shot and the Layering Squares Framelits. The butterfly positioned symmetrically in the square.
  • I used the Banner Triple Punch to create three banners: Whisper White (10mm x 50mm) , Flirty Flamingo (10mm x 55mm) and Sweet Sugarplum (10mm x 60mm).
  • I inked up the ‘Happy Birthday’ from the ‘Sunshine Sayings’ Stamp Set in Sweet Sugarplum ink on the Whisper White banner.
  • Accessories I used: Delicate White Doilies, Silver Metallic Thread, Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon, Flirty Flamingo Enamel Shape (Heart), Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim

A HINT OF BRONZE IS THE KEY

image

HOW DID I MAKE THIS CARD?

  • I’ve only used one Stamp Set in the making of this card: ‘In This World’ Stamp Set
  • My Tip Top Taupe card base is A6 size (148mm x 210mm – folded in half). I’ve run half the paper through the Big Shot in the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  • My two layering panels have been cut asymmetrically in Shimmery White and Sahara Sand cardstock (approx. 120mm x 90mm).
  • My Shimmery White Cardstock has the sentiment and the key pattern. The sentiment is heat embossed with the new Copper Emboss Powder using Versamark ink. I’ve inked the key in Sahara Sand and stamped it in a pattern
  • Using the Fast Fuse, I joined the Shimmery White and the Sahara Sand Cardstock then wound Metallic Copper Thread around
  • I heat embossed the key in Copper Emboss powder on scrap of Shimmery White Cardstock. I’ve watercolored it with Tip Top Taupe Ink using the Aquapainter.
  • I’ve fussy cut it out with my paper Snips and attached it to the card with dimensionals to add some dimension.

BANNERS FOR DAD

image

HOW DID I MAKE THIS CARD?

  • My Basic Black card base is A6 size (148mm x 297mm – folded in half).
  • My layering panel (95mm x 142mm) is Whisper White Card Stock. I’ve inked the ‘pattern’ with Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped my own paper.
  • I’ve inked the striped banner from the ‘Badges and Banners’ in Basic Black Archival Ink. I’ve then punched out the banner with the Best Badge Punch. No fussy cutting the badge when you have this punch!
  • My sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set. I’ve heat embossed the words in White Emboss Powder on Basic Black Cardstock. I’ve adhere them to the Badge with dimensionals.
  • Accessories I’ve used: Copper Metallic Thread and Black Metallic Thread.
  • I’ve attached an internal layer of Whisper White Cardstock (145mm x 100mm) so a message can be written on the inside of the card.

BIRTHDAY CHAIR

image

HOW DID I MAKE THIS CARD?

  • My Smoky Slate card base is A6 size (105mm x 297mm – folded in half). I’ve rounded the corners with the Envelope Punch Board.
  • Layering panel is Whisper white Cardstock (95mm x 140mm). I’ve run this layer through the Big Shot in the Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and rounded the corners with the Envelope Punch Board.
  • I inked up the chair stamp from the In This World stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped it on a piece of Watercolor Paper. The chair fits in a 1 7/8” circle. I’ve cut the circle out using the Big Shot and the layering Circles Framelits. I’ve watercolored the Chair in Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate ink with my aqua painter then added a touch of glimmer with clear Wink of Stella.
  • I’ve cut more circles with the Circles Framelits (Smoky Slate – 2 1/8″, Mint Macaron – 2 3/8″ and Silver Foil (2 5/8″ ) and layered them.
  • Accessories I’ve used: Mint Macaron 3/8” Sheer Linen Ribbon and Smoky Slate 1/8” Stitched Ribbon

Lovely as a Tree Sympathy

Hello from the Magenta Tiger,

image

I’m playing along with the current Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 242. I found out a girlfriend’s fur baby passed away last night so I’ll be posting this card to her. 🙁  For this project I’ve used the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set. I’ve only just purchased this set and I can’t believe it’s taken me so long. The trees are magical!

My circles are cut out using the Layering Circles Framelits and the Big Shot. I also ran my Crumb Cake Card stock thought the BigShot in the Large Polka Dot Embossing folder to get the texture large dots. A little Gold Metallic Thread never hurt anyone to finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by, Love Fiona xxx
