CASEing the CATTY 152 – Painted Autumn & Spooky Nights

Hello from the Magenta Tiger,

Welcome to another CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, it all Painted Harvest and Spooky Nights this week.

The Painted Harvest Stamp Set is probably one of my most favourite Stamp Sets in the Holiday Catalogue. It’s so versatile. You can create a thank-you card with autumnal colours, a birthday card with pretty pinks or a Christmas Card with rich reds.

This week I created a Christmas Card with the Painted Harvest Stamp Set and a few other items from the Holiday Catalogue.

Here is my Card:

Card Base: Cherry Cobbler Cardstock

Layer 1: Champagne Foil – run through the Big Shot in the Quilt Top Textured Embossing Folder

Layer 2: Watercolour Paper – after I did all the stamping I added water to the image with my Stampin’ Spritzer. It waters down/smoges the image.

  • Petals Layer 1 – Powder Pink Ink
  • Petals Layer 2 – Cherry Cobbler
  • Center Layer 1 – Daffodil Delight
  • Center Layer 2 – Early Espresso

Sentiment: ‘Merry Christmas from our family to yours’ is from the Snowflakes Sentiments Stamp Set. I’ve inked the Stamp with my Stampin Markers (Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso) hence the two colours of the image.

I hope you’ll continue to enjoy the Blog Hop. Next up is my stamping pal across the ditch Sandra Collett

Please join in the Sunday CASEing the Catty Challenge.

Happy crafting, Love Fi xxx

Colour Inspiration #20

Hello from the Magenta Tiger,

This week I’m participating in the 20th Colour INKspiration Challenge as a Guest Designer. It’s a pleasure to be hopping this week with the Colour INKspiration Crew.

The Colour Palatte is amazing. Initially I looked at it thinking flowers,  trees but decided to go with a Christmas Tree. Even the Calypso Coral and Dapper Denim fit the bill.

As well as the chosen colour combo above, we can use neutrals such as Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Metallics.

Here is my card:

  • Card Base: Cherry Cobbler Cardstock (21cm x 10.5cm)
  • Layer 1: Cherry Cobbler Card stock (10.2cm x 14.4cm)
  • Layer 2: Shimmery White Cardstock (9.8cm x 14.0cm)
    • I’ve stamped the tree truck from the Iconic Christmas Stamp Set in Crumb Cake Ink twice
  • Layer 3: Always Artichoke Cardstock – this was fussy cut with my Paper Snips once I’d cut out Layer 4 in the Big Shot
  • Layer 4: Shimmery White Cardstock
    • I stamped the Christmas Tree with the Decorations first in Archival Basic Black Ink
    • I cut out the Tree with the Die from the Ornamental Christmas Framelits
    • This die also cut out some of the Decorations on the Tree
    • I’ve coloured each Decoration with Blender Pens using all the Colours in the Combo: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Calypso Coral and Dapper Denim.
    • Each of the Decorations that has been cut out were added back to the tree on Mini Dimensionals
  • The Star on the top of the tree is cut out using the Star in the Ornamental Christmas Framelits with Glimmer Gold Paper
  • I’ve added a little 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler under the Sentiment
  • Sentiment: ‘Merry Christmas’ is from the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set and inked in Always Artichoke and given an Always Artichoke Cardstock border.

Next up is Bronwyn Eastley

We hope you can join us this using this colour combination. The Challenge end at 7pm (AEDT) on Monday 6th November 2017.

Happy crafting!

INSPIRE.CREATE Stamping Challenges #002

Hello from the Magenta Tiger,

It’s lovely to be sharing a Birthday Card for my Auntie today. I’m playing along with a new Challenge: INSPIRE.CREATE.CHALLENGE. The second challenge is a sketch.

I love when my cards are not symmetrical so I loved this sketch challenge!

Here is my card:

I decided to challenge myself this weekend and make a card with each of the flowers in the Flirty Flowers Stamp Set. This is the first card I created.I’ll upload my other creations over the next week or so.

I’ve coloured the flowers with my watercolour pencils and my Blender Pen. I’ve used the Pretty Label punch for the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my card for this challenge!

CASEing the CATTY 150 – Favourite Big Shot Project from Holiday Catalogue

Welcome to the Magenta Tiger!

What a week to be CASEing the Catty! We are CASEing our Favourite Big Shot Project from the holiday Catalogue. There are so many Big Shot projects in the Holiday Catalogue so it was a hard decision.

I’ve CASED from page 6. My project uses the Christmas Staircase Thinlits Dies and the co-oridinating Ready for Christmas Stamp Set. My favourite image in this bundle is the little Dachshund wearing a sweater.

My new Stampin’ Blends arrived on Friday so I decided to test them out! As you all know, I LOVE TO COLOUR!!! These Stampin’ Blends are for me!

For this Christmas Card, there is plenty of stamping, cutting with the Big Shot and of course plenty of adding colour with my new Stampin’ Blends!

Here it is:

I’ve used the Layering Circle Framelits to cut a hole in my card. This allow us to see the Christmas tree with this Gold Glimmer Star and decorations to be seen.

The Dachshunds are dressed in Christmas Sweaters, hoping for one of Santas’ Cookies to fall …

The Stocking are are hung on staircase banister.

Thank-you for hopping over to the Magenta Tiger. Join us in the weeks’ Challenge on our Facebook Page.

Hop next to a talented Mel Pagano …

Happy crafting,

CASEing the Catty – 149 – Year of Cheer

Welcome to the Magenta Tiger!

This week on the CASEING THE CATTY Sunday Blog Hop we are caseing from pages 36-47 of thew Holiday Catalogue. I’ve taken inspiration from the beautiful Stampin’ Up! creations on page 36. These projects use elegant metallic foil and the Year of Cheer Speciality Designer Series Paper.

I created a gorgeous Gift Box using the amazing Year of Cheer Speciality Designer Series Paper. The Champagne Foil in this paper is simply amazing, it catches the light and sparkles beautifully!

Here is my Gift Box:

The measurements of the box are based on a You Tube Video by Jennifer Frost. The top of the box is the ‘Sparkle’ pattern in the Year of Cheer Speciality Designer Series and the bottom made with Thick Whisper White Card stock. I used Stampin’ Up!® Tear & Tape Adhesive to assemble the box. It’s super strong for boxes and 3D items.

I’ve added Basic Black Archival Ink with a Sponge Dauber to the back of the Foil Snowflake.

The circles from the Cheers to the Year Stamp Set are stamped in Smoky Slate and Basic Grey Archival Ink. These have been layered over the Snowflake and some Mini Sequin Trim.

I’ve stamped the sentiment ‘season of cheer’ from the Watercolour Christmas Stamp Set twice on Whisper White Cardstock. Once with Smoky Slate and once with Basic Black Archival Ink to give a shadowed effect. This sentiment was punched out with the Everyday Label Punch. I’ve punched two other layers: Smoky Slate and Basic Black. I cut these in half and layered them behind the sentiment.

Thank-you for hopping over to the Magenta Tiger. Jo

Keep hopping with the lovely Jackie Noble.

Colour INKspiration 18

Hello from the Magenta Tiger,

What an amazing colour combination in this Colour Inspiration Challenge.

I’ve used the Painted Harvest Stamp set to create my card using these challenge colours.

Here is my card:

  1. Card Base: Powder Pink Cardstock (
  2. Champagne Foil Sheet (
    • Instead of using the whole piece of Champagne Foil, I’ve punched some circles out of the centre. These circles will be covered by the next layer.

      • I’ll be able to use these Champagne Foil circles in another project.
  1. I’ve attached the two above layers with Fast Fuse and then put them thought the Big Shot in the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  2.  Watercolour Paper
    • I’ve stamped the flowers
      • Ist Layer – Powder Pink
      • 2nd Layer – Sweet Sugar Plum
      • Centre: Sahara Sand – I’ve stamped this twice. I rotated the stamp a little to get s slightly difference print
    • I’ve added water to the watercolour paper and ink with a Stamping’ Spritzer. This gives the ‘waterwashed’ look.
  3. Sentiment – ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set
    • I’ve stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey Archival Ink on Watercolour paper then punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch.
    • I layered the Sahara Sand Pretty Label (just both ends) behind the Sentiment
  4. Accessories
    • I’ve added a length of Powder Pink – 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon to the front of the Watercolour Paper and a dash of Silver and Copper Metallic Thread behind the sentiment

Thanks for popping past, below is a list of all the supplies you’ll need to make my card. Click on any of the products and I’ll take you to my Stampin’ Up!® Store.

Colour INKSpiration #17

Hello from Fi at the Magenta Tiger,

I absolutely loved the Colour Combination for the 17th Colour INKSpiration Challenge: Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist, Tempting Turquoise and Flirty Flamingo.

Ice creams, Flamingos, Jar of Flowers … all good options but I decided on Magical Mermaids.

Here is my card:

Water colour, water colour and Clear Wink of Stella!

This is one of the most fun cards I’ve made … ever!!! It’s taken me too long to play with my Magical Mermaids Stamp Set.
