CASEing the CATTY 136 – Artistic Expression

Hello form Fi at the Magenta Tiger,

This week we’re CASEing from the Artistic Expressions section of the Annual Catalogue. This section has some beautiful samples to gain inspiration from. I’ve chosen to ‘CASE’ the Berry Burst Box on page 152: I’ve changed up the colours and the stamp set.

Since the new Catalogue was launched, I’ve noticed that I’ve been neglecting most of the Stampin’ Up!® Colours … actually all the colours except the new In Colours! Sweet Sugarplum is starring today (with Berry Burst – I can’t help but use it!)

Here is my box:

Sweet Sugarplum, Berry Burst and Smoky Slate co-ordinate so beautifully!

CASEing the Catty 136 -Artistic Expressions

I created a little box with 4 matching cards to give as a gift. The dimensions of the box are 11.5cm x 11.5cm x 1.5cm. I used the Envelope Punch Board and The Crafty Owls’s Box Buster. This tool is amazing, it’ll help you make boxes of all sizes and shapes. I inputed the below dimensions then followed the instructions on the website to get my box …

Box Depth: 110mm

Box Width: 110mm

Box Height: 15mm

This is what my box looked like before I decorated it, folded it and glued it together with Fast Fuse.

I cut out the lattice from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies in Berry Burst Card Stock. I’ve stamped ‘A Little Thanks’ in Berry Burst on Whisper White Ink then punch out the label with the Classic Label Punch.

I’ve stamped leaves (Smoky Slate) and crosses (Berry Burst) directly on the Whisper White Card Stock  and I’ve stamped the flower (Sweet Sugarplum) directly on the piece of Vellum. The Diecut Flower is from the Eclectic Layers Framelits in Sweet Sugarplum Card Stock.

I made 4 matching cards with different sentiments: Happy Birthday  (Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set) and A Little Thanks (One Big Meaning Stamp Set). This box is going to be a handy present for someone.

We’d love you to share your creations on our Facebook Page

Keep hopping along … next up is a gorgeous creation by Kelly Kent.

CASEing the Catty 135 – Thanks

Hello, it’s Fi from the Magenta Tiger,

I’m super excited because I’ve joined the CASEing the Catty Design Team. I’ve been playing along with the Sunday Challenge for a while now because the  Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues are filled with beautiful samples and inspiration. I’m very lucky to be creating alongside some extremely talented women.

For my first ‘CASE’ as Design Team Member, I’ve taken inspiration from ‘Stepped Up’ card on page 129. I love the three ‘stepped up’ versions of the cards in Blushing Bride.

For my card, I decided to use two other Stampin’ Up!® colours:             Berry Burst and Dapper Denim.

CASEing the Catty 135 – Thanks

Here is my creation:

HOW DID I MAKE THIS CARD?

Card Base:

  • Thick Whisper White Card Stock, I’ve put the Front though the Big Shot in the New Polka Dots Basic Embossing Folder.

Card Detail:

  • I’ve punched out 6 circles using the  1″, 3/4″ and 1/2″ Circle Punches in Dapper Denim & Berry Burst Card Stock.
  • The Berry Burst Medallion was created using one of the Eastern Medallions Thinlits and a large Circle from the Layering Circles Framelits
  • I used the 2 1/4″ Circle Punch to cut out a Circle of Dapper Denim Card Stock
  • Sentiment: ‘Thank You’ from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set. I’ve stamped this sentiment on Whisper white Card Stock in Dapper Denim Ink then punch it out with the 2″ Circle Punch.

Ribbons, Trim and Embellishments:

  • I’ve folded in half 26 cm’s of the co-ordinating Dapper Denim 3/8″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Twisted and messily added Silver metallic Thread
  • 3 Large White Sequins – attached with Glue Dots cut into smaller portions

Happy for You – Colour INKspiration 11

Hello it’s Fi from the Magenta Tiger,

If I asked you to make a card using the following colours what would you do?

Happy for You! – Colour INKspiration 11

It has taken me the full two weeks of the Colour INKspiration Challenge to come up with my card. So much thinking, my head hurts!

Here is my card:

The ‘In the City’ Hostess Stamp Set has been very cleverly designed.  Each building/object has an outline stamp and a matching filling stamp. You can stamp colour into each object instead colouring. I have watercolored the sky in Marina Mist and the road in Sahara Sand to add a little more depth to the picture.

Happy Birthday Friend – CTC113

Hello from Fiona at the Magenta Tiger,
The Annual Catalogue is filled with so many samples to ‘CASE’. I love the circles and hearts in the card on page 97. I’ve created a Birthday Card for a friend at work using the Stitched Squares instead. I’m obsessed with the New In-Colours.

I’ve embossed the Lemon Lime Twist Card Base with the 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder: doesn’t it just pop! I’ve cut out the Heart from the Sunshine Wishes Framelits in Silver Foil and the ‘friend’ from the Lovely Words Framelits.

Eastern Palace – Note Cards

Hello from Fiona at the Magenta Tiger,

I was recently asked to make a couple of Note cards for a friend to be used for any occasions. I was inspired by a cute little square card on page 18 of the new Stamping’ Up! Annual Catalogue from the Eastern Palace Suite.

I created three gorgeous little note cards using one sheet of Shimmery White card stock. The colours I chose for these cards are three of the new In Colors.
